Learning Vacations for Educators, 4.5 CEU credits for Five Day Canoe Expeditions
The Dirigo Institue for Natural Learning leads environmental education immersion weeks in twenty-nine foot canoes on Maine Lakes and Coastal waters. You paddle and practice minimum impact travel while developing curriculum in “Place Based Education” that is aligned with the Learning Results. Educators work independently therefore the programs cut across all grade levels. Guides and informal educators, Jo Eaton and Gudrun Keszocze, have been leading outdoor programs for over ten years.

We use these topics as examples for aligning with the Learning Results while using your local environment, history, resources and culture in your personalized curriculum.
